VEYDANEH Rising at Question Pond

VEYDANEH Rising at Question Pond

As I calm my mind and leave my body I hover above the ground and rush towards the subtropical wetlands around where I live.  I finally float above what I call Question Pond. It is quiet all around and the water is still. The cypress trees grow all around in a circle like age old sentinels. Saw Palmettos, Sabal Palms, and Florida Thatch Palm lean in to inquire on the intruder.  A few slow and methodical intelligent fish swim under its blue green surface, Ancient frogs hop to nearby trees then into the water, giant toads stare at me from the shadows, and cotton mouth snakes float in the water circling around where the Eyes stare through me from the depths and I feel a pressure on my chest then in my third eye and SHE rises from the dark waters.  Lifting gradually out of the water like a possessed doll limp yet alive.  Eyes blank yet seeing all things unseen.  Her little fangs touching my skin yet so far from it, a little god touched by pain and nurtured by nature.  The snakes twist around her body which is dark skinned yet white from death's touch.  Horns spring from her head as her black twisted hair flies free. I bow in mid air my hooded robe falling over my face halfway, an adept of the Maleficium Cultus, I am present at her first rising.  The first sign of the Pandemonium all around us and the village that lies in the center of these wetland woods.

Moth hovering on a Mushroom (original woodburning artwork) by Scott Ferry

NEW ITEM IN MY NINSAR ETSY shop!
Moth hovering on a Mushroom (original woodburning artwork)
by Scott Ferry
www.scottferry.com
SIZE : 9"X8"
Handmade original wood burning art, keepsake and jewelry boxes
inspired by nature and wildlife.

The Mushroom: Amanita muscaria, commonly known as the fly agaric or fly amanita, is a basidiomycete of the genus Amanita. Native throughout the temperate and boreal regions of the Northern Hemisphere, Amanita muscaria has been unintentionally introduced to many countries in the Southern Hemisphere, generally as a symbiont with pine and birch plantations, and is now a true cosmopolitan species. It associates with various deciduous and coniferous trees.
Arguably the most iconic toadstool species, the fly agaric is a large white-gilled, white-spotted, usually red mushroom, and is one of the most recognizable and widely encountered in popular culture.
The Moth: Sphecodina abbottii, or Abbott's sphinx, is a moth of the family Sphingidae. The species was first described by William John Swainson in 1821.
The underwings have a strong yellow band and in flight, the moth buzzes, appearing like a bee. The forewings are violet grey when fresh and have a "barklike pattern of swirling black lines" according to David Beadle and Seabrooke Leckie. At rest, they raise their abdomens and are well camouflaged on tree bark, looking like a broken branch.

Adults are bumblebee mimics and make a buzzing sound when feeding.
Adult Food: Nectar from flowers including honeysuckle (Lonicera), lilac (Syringa vulgaris), and Viburnum.
Habitat: Woodlands.
Range: Northern Florida, Mississippi, and Texas north to Nebraska.

Ninsar Creations Halloween Post

Since Fall through Winter is my favorite time of the year I wanted to showcase a few Halloween / Fall artworks.  (Both in woodburning and illustration.)

Wood burning of
"Little Witch Opening the Doorway to Feelings, Delights, and the Spirit of Fall"
by Scott Ferry $63 (free shippin in US)
https://etsy.me/2P7SZP0 via @Etsy

As the spaces in-between open up to give conversation to spirits and ancestors the feelings of nature during Fall and Winter come to swirl around us. I just finished this wood burning on Halloween night. Pumpkin vines crawl upwards and around the pumpkin. The witch floats behind with a datura hat giving dominion over dreams. Moons phase between full and new. This is an original illustration and wood burning on basswood. There is a leather cord to hang it on the wall. The artwork is signed and marked by me. Size is 8"x5".

I also have an inktober illustration  :

Do What Thou Wilt - a group art exhibit at Hyaena Gallery

I have one artwork that was specifically created for this show. My mind delved into an astral and dream land where the two Cecil Hotels in LA and in London became portals to other dimensions as well as giving the ability to travel across space and time to effect knowledge, wisdom, and experience.

Portals emerging through ritual and sacrifice opening up otherworlds of old gods and elder beings and merging my own retinue of spirits from the Maleficium Cultus.

LAM appears within the artwork, Crowley in younger years and as one head of the beast, Elisa who recently died in the LA Cecil hotel appears then as SEILA within Crowley's Amalantrah ritual then supplying the anacronym Sorcerer Entering Initiation Landscape Amalantrah.

That is the short version of the work.

Dissolution Into Pandaemonium ... Apophissek speaks

My familiars meeting on the edge of Pandemonium.
Finishing the last detail of my latest painting. www.scottferry.com

Dissolution Into Pandaemonium
watercolor (some of the watercolors used are painted with genuine sugilite pigment)
12"x16"
by Scott Ferry

Apophissek speaks to Saaknaseey somewhere in the secret swamp lands of the Maleficium Cultus. (It is a place of ancient wells that travel deep into the earth connecting with the underworld lakes and rivers that flow beneath the the south east (Florida, etc.), as wells as a giant semi-tropical swamp that eventually disolves on its farthest edge into the pandaemonium. The cacophony of many spirits that created a morphing and chaotic village here at the end of the world. This is where the Maleficum Cultus resides and spreads in all direction. Its many forms converge such as malicious godlike spirits in the form of little girls, animals, and reptiles.) What they speak of together is secret and is revealed by reflecting on the artworks in a concentrated sorceric fashion eventually the figures move and speak and this world opens up.

Southern Dokkalfar

Southern Dökkálfar
watercolor
(This particular spirit, originally seen and connected with around 1992-94 at Lithia Park in Ashland, Oregon, has appeared over many years in different forms to me in dream, reality, and within my artwork itself. It is also one of the Maleficium Cultus sometimes seen as a doll in Veyasee's arms and as a powerful magickal fetish much like a chaosphere. It now appears and interacts with my personal explorations of southern landscapes and haunts.)

She Awoke As From A Dream (raising the young girl Vedaneh from the grave)

She Awoke As From A Dream
by Scott Ferry
11"x14", watercolor

www.scottferry.com
Etsy Shop: shadowsofseak.etsy.com
Necromancy adapted from the Latin Necromantia involves the raising or “calling” of the dead for divination or binding the spirit for a specific purpose. Here the Maleficium Cultus gather together in a southern cemetery to raise the young girl Vedaneh from the grave. Her dress is worn by one of the witches, her skull and bones are dug up to to entice her and various plants (Wormwood, Datura, Brugsmania, Nightshade, & Bats Tail) associated with Necromancy bloom and cast their fragrance and mind altering properties to open the doorway to the other realm. Vedaneh is awoken to become one of the child spirit/gods of the Cultus. Veyasee in the background watches over the Necromantic ritual as well as watches the viewer of the artwork calling them to enter.
